Intro the First

Well now, this whole teleporting thing isn't too bad. If only they could control it they'd make a fortune. Well, not really since "they" apparently don't believe in money. I've never heard of such a thing. So backwards. The idea that "they" could be more enlightented beyond the needs of money is just plain ludicrous. Oh well! They don't know what they're missing.

I haven't gotten to explore all of this place yet, so anyone wind up somewhere interesting from this? Come on! Share the juicy details please!

What the hell?!

[Runs over, dodging through most of her own traps lithely and winces at the bear trap set off. Okay, maybe she really did overdo it, but she doesn't like being kidnapped. She ALSO doesn't like people just showing up, teleporting their fault or not and has a gun steadied at him.]

Who are you?

[Raphael manages to sit up, but is in obvious pain.]

Get that gun outta my face.

Damn. Hold still. [Has a soft spot for animals and that is DEFINITELY a turtle or tortoise shell so she puts the Browning back in her bra.] Seriously though, who are you? Because if I don't get a satisfactory answer, this isn't the only thing you'll wind up with on your shell. [Caaaarefuly adjusts it to take it off and get out the antiseptic and salves.] It might sting, but it'll help. Good thing this didn't go off somewhere else.

[As she tugs at the trap, he grits through his teeth:] Raphael.

Why the - [He winces.] Hell do you gotta bear trap in here?

I don't like visitors, Raphael. [Eyes narrow and applies the salve, gingerly placing it on the shell with a light offer to rub it in given the location.] You didn't hit any of the knive or anything else did you?

You an' me both, sister. [He's just a little shocked that this woman's taking care of him, so he'll just sit still.]

No. [He turns to look over his shoulder, trying to see the wounds.] It ain't bleedin' is it?

Mm. Sorry. I mean, I heard about the teleporting, just didn't think to disarm everything just in case.

Not that I can see. [Runs fingers smoothly to double check and apply the salve evenly.] You're pretty tough for a guy. Most of them bawl like a baby and try to rake in the sympathy when get one of these on them. [Using a soothing melodic tone.]

[Raph just grunts. Who is this chick?? If he wasn't in pain, he'd be bolting across the room, but it's so strange, the way her fingers move along his shell.

As soon as the thought hits him, his face is burning in what's probably embarrassment, and he reluctantly jerks away, getting to his feet.]

Yeah? So you got my name. Who're you 'sposed to be?

Fujiko Mine. And I have disarmed anything yet, so I hope you don't intend to start pacing until I do.

Random victim of the teleporting? Because if not, you're a lousy assassin.

[He grabs the pommel of his sai, taking her word for the trap thing and stays standing where he is.]

I was in my own damn dojo.

[He growls at the floor because he sure as hell can't look at her.]

Dojo? You're Japanese?

[Instantly hopeful glance as she starts with the floor and disentangles the wires and bells he set off before kicking a few subtle markers on the floor. Yes, she really does live in it like this.]

Yeah. My, uh, father is. [He watches her with a cagey look in his eye.]

5. On the 8th floor. Like I said, I don't like visitors so I've got the whole story to myself for now. [Flicks off a switch near the doorway which flashes a few daggers, but then completely stills.] And if it's not too much to hope for, we can keep this our little secret? [Flutters eyelashes slightly with a finger over her lips, trying extra hard to look cute.]

[WHO THE HELL IS THIS CHICK??

He takes a half-step back, a little stunned by that look she just gave him.] Uh...yeah, no problem.

Thanks! I'll owe you one! [Bounces on the balls of her feet.] Or we can call it even. Whichever. [Leads him towards the kitchen area with a crooked finger.] So supposedly these "experiments" happen often around here, that true, or is this your first time?

[Quick! Run Raph! She's getting into the talkative phase!]

[He wants to run but his feet won't move! And that stunned expression on his face only grows as she starts...bouncing. Somehow he finds himself herded to the kitchen, but he's not quite sure how he got there.]

No, I been here a long time.

[Slow down, Fujiko. He'll only answer one question at a time in his current, almost robotic state.]

How long is long? [Sits him at the table near the kitchen and goes to the fridge-thing.] You want a drink?

Nine months. An' I know better than to take a drink from a broad with daggers rigged in her walls.

[A light pout.] Now really! If I was going to poison you I could have just put it in the salve, and I wouldn't have take the trap off!

Besides I never use poisons, too many things that could go wrong. [Gets out a couple of beers anyway and nudges one towards him.] And much too many anti-poisons to keep track of.

[But beer he can't say no to. But he grabs the opposite one from what she'd been offering him. He doesn't say anything about the poison, though. He's a ninja, of course he uses it. It's just not something you get all buddy-buddy about.

He cracks open his beer, still eyeing her suspiciously.]

So. Raph~ Raphael~~ [Purring the name with her voice.] Work out in the dojo often?

Are you a swordsman? [So hoping not.]

[Screw the traps, he's going to die right here, right now. He feels his face growing hot again, and he tightens his grip on his beer, still yet to take a drink.]

Yeah. I...no. Primary weapon's the sai. [Hence the ones tucked in his belt.]
