Merely average is a great deal better than half of the population. And since I only seem to know that half, that would make you better than everyone I know at it, right?

I suppose you can look at it that way...but everyone I had known before was always far above the average.

At singing or in general? Everyone's good at something. So don't try to be better than them, just make their talents work for you too and then it might as well be as good as your own~ ^_^

I do not try. They have their talents and I have mine. I find myself blessed to be in such capable company.

Unfortunately the talents of the company I had until coming here usually ran along the lines of thieving, explosives, bad luck, and swordsmanship. ~~Even if they were the best in the world at it.~~

That is truly unfortunate.

Many talents...music for one...horse riding, fencing, studies, diplomacy, politics...I have always had most gifted friends.

Could be worse. I'm not going to be the first to defend Lupin all things considered since he's a cad but at least he wasn't much of a killer. Kind of soft-hearted like that. There's no honor amoung thieves but he always had standards at least. And sometimes he tried to live up to the "Gentleman's thief" reputation his grandfather built instead of just the theif part.

There is no honor in thievery. It is good he is not a killer, but being a thief is still wrong.

Mine? I suppose fencing, politics and diplomacy, art and studies are the main ones. What about your own?

Perhaps. I find the world has a lot of gray. Was Robin Hood wrong to steal from an illegal King who overtaxed his people in order to take back some of what was stolen in the first place and give it to the starving peasants? Repo men in my world are often viewed as thieves and yet what they do is a legal means of enforcing people to pay debts.

Oh a little of this, a little of that. I'm not the ultimate best at anything. No desire to be. That would take dedicating my life to one thing and I'd probably get bored in that event. I'm good at finding things. And people. But it's no use. Items get lost or stolen or break or aren't really worth the risks you take and everyone leaves in the end.

I have learned on this world that things are not always as they seem and that titles can be very deceiving. If you say that he is a thief like we are pirates then that would be alright.

Do not be so negative. Not everyone leaves. You may be parted with some momentarily, but people who truly love you and that you truly love will always remain with you.

Lupin can't really be described well. He has to be experienced. Sometimes we fought on the same side, sometimes completely opposites. To call him a thief even in the same way some of this crew are pirates just glosses him over too much. If you ever meet him, watch your step around him.

Hn. Perhaps.... But I don't hold a lot of hope. There've been enough people whom I loved and thought loved me back who left that I no longer know if it's truly possible for someone to want to stay. Or for me to stay myself.

Of course it is possible to want. The problem is sometimes things do not go as one wishes them to. I very much want to stand by my old friends, yet I am here. It does not mean I do not care for them anymore. And I would do my utmost to get back to them. But that does not mean that I do not care for the friends I had made here.

I believe that my friends had not stopped caring for me or wishing for my return. You carry the ones you love with you wherever you go, even if they are not physically there.

*sigh* So I'm told.

But... sometimes it's not them who leaves. It's me. And sometimes I don't want them to find me. I want to give up on them. They pull the same stupid stunts and after a while I get sick of it. Or if I find someone cool, they go away. And even if we are talking, they're an ocean way and when they get in trouble I can't protect them. And I'm tired of trying only to fail. I couldn't protect Agito and Akito. I couldn't protect Toboe. And I'm glad Lambo's having fun but if he gets hurt there's nothing I can do there either.

I don't know why I bother anymore.

Because life is not worth living without love. It may cause pain, it is true. Akito and Toboe...it had hurt me as well. But I would not trade that pain away for anything. I would rather hurt for the rest of my life than to spend it alone.

That is natural of course, especially with all that had been occurring as of late. But I believe you do agree with me, otherwise you would not get close to so many people.
