Lucci is not emotionally devoid at 14. Not of affection, hurt, or any of it. He is not unattached, he's hurt. He's confused. He's trying far too hard to be a cold killer because he thinks that's what he's supposed to be that will make him strong. I don't think he even believes it will make him hurt less, I think he doesn't give a damn if he hurts because he wants to be a tool so he doesn't have to feel anything and figures it doesn't matter if tools hurt.

He cares. He doesn't want to but he cares. And letting him hide under the guise that he doesn't will just let him continue this stupid Bullshit. You've got a lot more patience because you do love him. I don't have it. But don't kid yourself or let him kid yourself. Even when he gets older he isn't emotionless. He said it himself once, he didn't ignore all feelings but it wasn't that at all, he just channeled every emotion he had into something else, one he thought other people considered more acceptable and useful.

I hate him like this.

I already know you're watching over him and watching your own step. I'm trusting you on both those counts so don't let what little faith I have get destroyed.
