[Fujiko has been raiding the library for the past few days looking for something very specific. Upon finding it, out she rushes, delighted with her discovery, only to remember something very obvious.]

Ciel! I found those books you were looking for. [And how. There's at least 3 Sherlock Holmes books, and a good stack of 20 other books. Anyone want to help the busty chick move those books? The little kid probably won't help that much either.] There were even some others I'd never seen before, but they look like fiction. And I got you Hound of the Baskerville, because it's just a really good book.

Hey, just so I know, if there are any fans of French literature out there, is anyone else here familiar with Maurice Leblanc or Arsene Lupin?

Oh! And Valvalis, I can start whenever you have time. [Aha, that might explain all the wind magic books she's got. Still, even though normally she'd make Lupin do all this work, she doesn't look too unhappy.]

[The only time springing traps on Fujiko is a good idea is when you enjoy sudden machine gun holes all over your walls and/or watching a cat buglar freaking out so she can roll and dodge in motion. She would also then return the trap favor sometime. Only she uses boxing gloves on springs and beartraps she stole off trappers to punish them, (and then the world.)]

Oh, this is Jack! [Beams up at him, because really, Fujiko is like those schoolgirls in stories who don't have to carry their own books.] Jack, Ciel. And look! I found about 24 books!

Ah, of course. A pleasure to meet you, Jack, I am Ciel Phantomhive. [Flatly, and then with a nod to Fujiko - and no small bit of reluctance, he opens the door further. He has to because, well, he can't lift all those and he might as well... show them to the study. Dammit that means in good faith he needs to offer tea too.

Sigh]

[But then a more pleasant expression almost instantly]

Do come in. Thank you for carrying those all this way... just a tad further to the study, I would greatly appreciate it. [And at this he turns, slams on his cane a little, and then starts to lead them there]

Would either of you care for a cup of tea while you're here?

[Jack steps inside, noting its actually fancy as Luceti homes go.]

Guess a kid like you doesn't have anything stronger than tea, do you?

I'm not really a tea drinker, but thanks for offer!

[At least that means she's not casing the place... yet.]

If I did, this situation is hardly the time for such indulgence. [Ugh. Well, whatever. Down the hall and... study. Nice chairs, table, lamps, some books. The works, you know]

How did you get this place?

[Not that her own isn't over-furnished or anything. She just kept stealing all the traps she could rather than "nice" things. Still, it's curious.]

[Jack in the meantime drops off the books on the table. Enjoy getting any books off this ridiculously tall stack, kid.]

Yeah. Doesn't look like your typical house in Luceti.

Some time ago, I put my butler to work on expansion of the existing house, resulting in this manor. It is small, of course, but sufficient for my purposes here.

['modestly' of course. Oh so modestly]

Goodness! You must really miss your butler. [Because if he can do all that, he definitely puts Fujiko's times working as a tutor/maid/bodyguard for various actual princesses to shame.]

Guess you must've lost old Jeeves. Who keeps this joint clean now? [Although Jack has seen better butlers. Like Bluebeard's, who was actually an ogre.]

[He actually holds back a wince at Fujiko's statement. Miss is entirely the wrong word, even if the sentiment is probably true. He's not sure what his feelings on the matter are, even now. Thus, though he is laothe to do so, he focuses on Jack's bit instead, nodding his head somewhat and carefully clarifying-]

No small amount of effort from all of the current tenants of this household ensure that it remains in the shape you see now. [...Which to be fair is much dirtier than his own standards, but probably about at the level of a bit above an average home. At least in this room.] It had been an... adjustment, but we have made due.

[Read: Bowser and him wait on the girls to do it. Lizzie does her best and who even knows what Takano does]

[See that suspicious eyebrow arch Ciel? Fujiko's all too used to how certain princes and lords think. But for once, she holds her tongue and just balances on the balls of her feet.]

Oh well, maybe he'll come back. Unless the scientists want to teach you a lesson about fending for yourself. [She's just saying. And this is the sort of mouth that gets her threatened, tied up, and tortured to try to make her shut up.]

[Jack is suspicious too. But doesn't say anything because, frankly, he couldn't give two shits about Ciel's own problems.]

Some lesson. Fending for yourself isn't too hard when you've got free food and housing.

That it is not. This much even a child could accomplish with relative ease. [He's aware of this :| He just... isn't fond of the situation. He is saying this as a sort of flat agreement]

Even still~ When you're used to something more, it can take a bit.

[Waves a hand smoothly.] Still, I'm sure you'll hold up!

[Jack leans up against the frame of the door. Frankly he has no interest in the little kid, so he's just waiting for Fujiko to finish her social call so they can go have those drinks they talked about.]

Well, have fun with the books Ciel! I'm sure you'll find them entertaining. I got you some of the future Sherlock Holmes novels too, your choice on whether you want to read them now or try to wait until back in your own time, hm.

You know I am. [He flashes Fujiko an eager smile. To Ciel, he gives a brief glance of annoyance.]

Rude. So rude. But he nods and waves, dismissing them. There's no need to even reply to them, just lean on his cane and follow them out.]

[Once they're outside of the 'manor', Jack smooths back his hair and grins.]

I think I heard something about drinks, earlier?

Mm-hm! On me. I have to pay you back for carrying those big heavy books somehow, ne~? [Never mind that everything is free in Luceti. Shhh, be amazed by her generosity.]
