OOC: Gokudera's Party Log Post

OBVIOUSLY you don't have to show up. We know it's short notice and during the week (feel free to run threads for months I don't mind) we just had a lot of people wanting to log things related to it and rather than have 17 little logs (seriously, I mean it is starting to clutter friend's page, for which I apologize because I think 1/2 of that is me orz) THIS WAY everyone can and all one post. And be spontaneous whatever.

It's decorated for Gokudera's birthday, nothing TOO big and flashy but Fujiko got him a piano banner because she's like that. (and did one for Akito/Agito so yeah)

Also of course, the awesome amazing PIANO Tsuna and Reborn got him with Brooke to visit and play!! YAY!

"That's just it. You can't help me. The only thing that would make it better for me is what you told me I can't have." He says quietly.

Unless... you've changed your mind?

He knows it's stupid to get his hopes up, but he's lived on hope before...

He squeezes his eyes so hard it almost hurts. His nose is burning slightly, but he ignores it and forces himself to look up st Haru. "I-I don't know if I can do that!" Tsuna chokes unintentionally and takes a very small step away from the taller boy.

The sight of Tsuna so clearly distressed brings an answering sting to his eyes and he bites his lips before he can go on. "I thought about it. About... asking you..." He swallows hard and feels a little of the pride he'd tried so hard to cling to crumble away. "Asking you to... if we could..." His hands are shaking and he buries them in his pockets, rigidly straightening up to his full height.

"But I won't. I won't ask you to do something you don't want to. I won't ask you to feel something you don't feel. I won't ask you to give up your dream for me..."

Tsuna can only stare up at the earthbender with trembling eyes as he's rendered speechless. "I-I-" It's not that he doesn't feel something, but there are so many emotions clashing within him that he's becoming overwhelmed. He knows he needs to talk to someone, but he's not strong enough to face Haru yet without guilt bubbling up within him and making him sick.

"I can't do this-!" He whines and hopes the burning in his throat will subside. Quickly he turns his back on Haru. "I need some time." He shuffles away to the nearest exit.

Haru can only stand there staring as the other boy leaves.

"Time. Guess there's plenty of that." He sighs and heads back inside to say his goodnights. He's had enough partying for one evening.

Fujiko stepped out of the shadows where she'd been lurking, tapping Haru on the shoulder. "Oi kid," she prodded uncertainly.

Whatever Haru was, he was pretty important to Jyabura and that made him important to her.

Haru has just placed his hand on the door when he feels the tap. He spins around, automatically reaching for the gems he keeps in his pocket. He sighs heavily when he sees who it is.

"Fujiko..."

"Hey honey," Fujiko used a voice that sounded a little like honey. Sweet and almost syrrupy. "You okay?" She couldn't decide whether to act worried or not worried so settled for something in the middle.

Fujiko didn't really sound like herself. Haru looks askance at her and offers a tight smile.

"I'm fine."

Rubbing her temples slightly, Fujiko shrugged. Because really there was only so much she could do. "You handled that..." 'well' was a lie but Fujiko had few qualms about lying as often as she could get away with it. "Um. Well."

He turns to look at her. "You were listening in. Great."

Fujiko shrugged unashamed. "I do that. On the bright side, better me than someone else~"

"What do you mean...? Someone else like who?" Haru's face hardens.

At that the blond woman sighed, "Like someone who'd use it against you. No one in particular."

He sighs, walking back over to the railing and staring up at the stars.

"Everyone already knows what's going on. I'm an idiot and he doesn't want me. Nothing new there." The bitterness he's kept inside finally overflows.

Fujiko growled slightly and took a separate seat in the shadows with her back to the wall. "Forget him kid. He's not really that impessive. Men come and go, diamonds in the rough stay."

Haru runs his hands through his hair and turns to look back at Fujiko.

"You don't understand... I think I love him." His eyes sting with unshed tears.

"I have to go. Sorry." Scrubbing his eyes with the back of his hand, he heads to the door and leaves before he can humilate himself any further.

Fujiko reached out and with cat-like reflexes grabbed him around the wrist. "No. That's pretty obvious kiddo," Fujik rolled her eyes. "Sit and we'll talk."

The pull on his arm startles him and he stops looking at the sub captain in confusion. How...?

"What? What do you mean?"

Smacking a palm to her face Fujiko tried very hard not to laugh. "I'm in my mid-20s. I've been in love a couple of times now and I know more about unrequited love than I suspect you ever will. So sit and talk. It'll help. First off, do you know why you love him?"

Sagging in defeat, Haru sits down next to the older woman.

"I love him because there is more to him than everyone thinks. He's kind and forgiving..." His eyes soften and his voice warms as he speaks of Tsuna.

"He's strong and fun and... and..." He feels his face heating up. "And handsome. He's a good kisser." He ducks his head and gives a little embarrassed smile.

"Okay now take those traits and in the vast expanse of the universe do you think no one else has those? What about his faults?" she leaned her head back against the wood.

"His faults?" Haru has to think for a moment. Everything about the other boy seems so perfect to him.

"Uh he... puts himself down too much." Finally settling on the one thing that really irritates him about the Vongola captain.

Fujiko pinched the bridge between her eyes, "If you're gonna love the guy you gotta know more. Lupin. I know his faults better than anyone." She turned her head to face him, "I'm not saying try to get closer. I'm saying if you can only think up one, you're starry-eyed. With everything that went down... you fell in love and then tried to know him. Sometimes it works better the other way around. Not always. But me and Jyabura? I knew some of his faults before we even met in person and told him some of mine."

"Starry-eyed? I know how I feel! Just because I can't think of a million things wrong with Tsuna doesn't mean that it's not real!" Haru folds his arms over his chest and looks away.

"I can't go back in time and change how we met. I can only deal with what's happening now."
