OOC: Gokudera's Party Log Post

OBVIOUSLY you don't have to show up. We know it's short notice and during the week (feel free to run threads for months I don't mind) we just had a lot of people wanting to log things related to it and rather than have 17 little logs (seriously, I mean it is starting to clutter friend's page, for which I apologize because I think 1/2 of that is me orz) THIS WAY everyone can and all one post. And be spontaneous whatever.

It's decorated for Gokudera's birthday, nothing TOO big and flashy but Fujiko got him a piano banner because she's like that. (and did one for Akito/Agito so yeah)

Also of course, the awesome amazing PIANO Tsuna and Reborn got him with Brooke to visit and play!! YAY!

At that the blond woman sighed, "Like someone who'd use it against you. No one in particular."

He sighs, walking back over to the railing and staring up at the stars.

"Everyone already knows what's going on. I'm an idiot and he doesn't want me. Nothing new there." The bitterness he's kept inside finally overflows.

Fujiko growled slightly and took a separate seat in the shadows with her back to the wall. "Forget him kid. He's not really that impessive. Men come and go, diamonds in the rough stay."

Haru runs his hands through his hair and turns to look back at Fujiko.

"You don't understand... I think I love him." His eyes sting with unshed tears.

"I have to go. Sorry." Scrubbing his eyes with the back of his hand, he heads to the door and leaves before he can humilate himself any further.

Fujiko reached out and with cat-like reflexes grabbed him around the wrist. "No. That's pretty obvious kiddo," Fujik rolled her eyes. "Sit and we'll talk."

The pull on his arm startles him and he stops looking at the sub captain in confusion. How...?

"What? What do you mean?"

Smacking a palm to her face Fujiko tried very hard not to laugh. "I'm in my mid-20s. I've been in love a couple of times now and I know more about unrequited love than I suspect you ever will. So sit and talk. It'll help. First off, do you know why you love him?"

Sagging in defeat, Haru sits down next to the older woman.

"I love him because there is more to him than everyone thinks. He's kind and forgiving..." His eyes soften and his voice warms as he speaks of Tsuna.

"He's strong and fun and... and..." He feels his face heating up. "And handsome. He's a good kisser." He ducks his head and gives a little embarrassed smile.

"Okay now take those traits and in the vast expanse of the universe do you think no one else has those? What about his faults?" she leaned her head back against the wood.

"His faults?" Haru has to think for a moment. Everything about the other boy seems so perfect to him.

"Uh he... puts himself down too much." Finally settling on the one thing that really irritates him about the Vongola captain.

Fujiko pinched the bridge between her eyes, "If you're gonna love the guy you gotta know more. Lupin. I know his faults better than anyone." She turned her head to face him, "I'm not saying try to get closer. I'm saying if you can only think up one, you're starry-eyed. With everything that went down... you fell in love and then tried to know him. Sometimes it works better the other way around. Not always. But me and Jyabura? I knew some of his faults before we even met in person and told him some of mine."

"Starry-eyed? I know how I feel! Just because I can't think of a million things wrong with Tsuna doesn't mean that it's not real!" Haru folds his arms over his chest and looks away.

"I can't go back in time and change how we met. I can only deal with what's happening now."

"Then deal with it now. You're pining and building him up in your head to something he's not. I can't make you stop loving him anymore than you can. It just doesn't work that way; I know. But if you are going to love him then do it for real," she blew a small smoke ring feeling better already.

"How am I supposed to do that?" He watches the small ring of smoke rise and dissipate in the breeze.

"Whatch from the shadows. Keep your distance. Use your head and study him I guess. Let your emotions decide and you'll only end up hurting yourself. You want him back? Figure out what he's looking for. Figure him out period," she shrugged spinning a PPK around a finger watching the stars and aiming for an insect near the lamp.

"Watch him from the shadows? I'm not going to turn into some kind of stalker, Fujiko!" He stands and looks down at her twirling that... thing.

"What is that thing anyway?!" He asks, gesturing to the metal object in his captain's hand.

"I don't mean stalk him. I mean don't chase him romantically. Not worth your time. Tch. Lupin ran around with anything in a skirt. You might not be able to stop loving him but you can stop hurting yourself with it."

She glanced over and smiled evilly shooting off a shot killing the insect instantly without even looking back where she'd aimed. "Walther PPK," she purred. "My baby."

Haru jerks back at the loud sound. "It's a weapon?!" He shakes his head. "I should have guessed."

He eyes the weapon warily and frowns. "You said you were listening. Then you already know that I didn't chase Tsuna anywhere. He followed me out here after I did everything I could to get away from him! I didn't even want to come to this party just to keep from seeing him again!" He gestures to the interior of the ship.

"He asked me how to fix things! I'm hardly chasing him. I've barely said ten words to him since he... broke things off. Just because I feel this way doesn't mean I'm going to beg him to take me back. Give me a little credit ok?"

"I know kid I know. That part was fine," Fujiko sighed heavily, "Except when he asked how to just be okay again..." It was a lot like Lupin. Really she'd been through the mill with the guy. "I don't know what Tsuna's looking for. And I'm definitely not saying try to pretend everything's okay again or that you can just go back to the way things were or however it's wanted. Just keep giving him space. Never let them see you weak about it."

"He's not my enemy, Fujiko. He's not going to take advantage of me or of how I feel." He sighs and walks back to the railing. Leaning over it, he watches the waves breaking against the hull of the yacht.

Gods, I miss home.

"I'm giving him all the space I can. I'm not bothering him or trying to talk to him. I don't know what else you expect me to do. How am I supposed to act when he's right in front of me asking me how he can make things right?"

The earthbender rolls his shoulders and stretches his neck hoping to ease some of the tension there and wishes could do something about the ache in his chest.

"Either tell him there's nothing or tell him a way to fix it. Don't openly pine. Play it cool. He's not your enemy but love takes no prisoners, only casualties," Fujiko answered.

"Pretend I don't care?" He's not sure he'd be able to do that. Lying has never been one of his strong points.

"Yes. You can't completely avoid him forever but no need to let him know it hurts. You got two choices. Walk away and try to never ever talk to him which just isn't going to work especially if you do love him, or grin and bear it. And if you develop a working relationship you'll get to know him better and either you'll find out why you like him better or you'll find he's not really as special as you thought after all." Fujiko took a soft puff, "Either way, win-win."

The thought of finding out that Tsuna isn't all that special is ridiculous to Haru but he nods anyway.

"I guess I can try..."
