Fair enough. Still, I'd consider it a good thing that she's even willing to drop the facade all things considered. It's an accomplishment, accidental or not.

I have some theories but if I told you in person you'd probably smack me for them so I'd rather not say without actual confirmation.

I didn't say that's what it was. And Kyouya has the hots for Tamaki anyway. And no matter how much she says she prefers the coolly intellectual "type" she also is drawn to danger like a moth to a flame. That is what she gets from you. That is what makes me surprised she hasn't joined the Varia ship which would be frought with all the danger a girl like her could handle. Basically you give her access to a glimpse into a world she can barely picture or imagine even though she spends most of her time dreaming up stuff anyway.

That's why she accepted going to the party, anyway. But there are plenty of other people where she could search that danger from, like yourself; or even the Strawhats, after all her ship is traveling with them.
But fact is, no matter how curious she is, for Renge, one thing is to approach this reality, and other is to make part of it. And she doesn't seem to be that willing on letting that happen.

Ah but there's a different kind of danger. The Straw-Hat would treat her as the Ouran ship already is, more like a princess, less like a weapon.

I did indeed. I guess I must be faking my interactions well if Lucci thinks I see him as a father figure. I nicked some files last time I met with him. I can type it up and email it or you can pick the method of transfer.

Lucci? what have you been doing around Lucci?

Email is fine; strangely safer than other methods right now, I suppose.

Lucci and I have a mutual agreement. I try not annoy him too much and he doesn't kill me. Nevertheless we both keep tabs on each other. He says according to my interactions with Smoker, it looks like I view him as a father figure. I'm going to run with it. See what I can do to use it to my advantage. Smoker is currently one of the easier links I have to marine files. He's smarter than Garp and not as high ranked but very good at what he does.

Smoker is competent, I give him credit for that. Never talked to him much, but then again, I have no interest on talking to marines.

If you do talk to him, be EXTREMELY cautious. He has killer instincts and can cut through political bullshit and other people's lies better than almost anyone I've seen. It's unnerving. And the danger might be half of why I picked him. I don't think I've got him all fooled but I'm certain he knows he can use me more than I'm using him. It's complicated. But don't underestimate him. He's intimidating for a reason.

I don't underestimate marine officials, believe me. I've learned enough about them to know which ones to keep the hell away from.
