[After the mission Fujiko's decided to pamper herself with shopping. So despite the thunderstorm, she'll be running around in a trench coat and boots, snagging clothes or trinkets, or whatever else she deems worthy. Hope you didn't want that thing she's got her eye on, because she probably won't share. There's a voice post in the middle of all this shark-like shopping frenzy though.]

It really is hard to keep up with fashions around here, hm? What with everyone from different worlds or times, and no way to know how things are back home. Can we all just agree floral prints are out this year and possibly indefinitely? Leave it to the boys and their Hawaiian shirts. Or maybe some of the New Feathers can tell us about a few trends back home?

And is it just me or this some great weather for hang-gliding? [Just you Fujiko, just you.] I'm thinking I'll hit the mountains when I finish shopping here. Anyone care to join me for a flight?

[Seriously, someone talk her out of this. Metal pipes attract electricity and all that and being a human kite in this weather is just insane. Even for Fujiko.]

Oh, I suppose he deserves some points if he bothers to try to talk about fashion, even if he fails at it. I wish my ex would have ever even tried to do that, but I guess it's too much to ask from a guy who thought that mullets were awesome.

At least he's not really a monkey. Consider yourself lucky, I live with two guys who used to turn into giant monkeys every time they stared at the full moon. You know, like werewolves, but with monkeys, skyscraper sized monkeys of brutal strength and no common sense.

[Not that they have much sense when in human form though.]

Okay I would say monkey except... not that much. Seriously? Weremonkeys? That's kind of scary. Was it all King Kong style?

My ex also wanted to be a Casanova and any fashion tips he has were learned from me. I should have known better than to try to make him look better, I won't bother with it next time.

You know King Kong? But that one was a gorilla, wasn't it? Those are... Well, Son-kun looked pretty much like King Kong but with a monkey tail, which was good because cutting that off was the only way to make him revert to normal. It's a trait of their race, even his son got a tail.

Smart girl. Men are all like that. [Another sigh.]

Wait... cutting it off? Ouch. [She can only think tail as well... something more private than that.] Does it grow back?

What can I say? I was young when I met him, silly and impressionable. I thought that looks were all a man needed to be perfect, because I had enough brains for both. And that every love story had to end in a wedding too. Now I know better, thankfully.

[Bulma used to think that "tail" referred to that too... Then she met Goku and was confused and later on came to understand it all.]

It used to, Son-kun's sure gave us trouble until Kami stopped it from growing anymore. I don't think Gohan's tail has grown back since it was cut and neither has Vegeta's. Unless they pull it off each time it grows back.

I guess everyone starts off like that sometime.

Huh... that is pretty strange, I have to admit. "Kami?"

It's strange, but that's what you get when you deal with aliens. You can't expect them to be the same as us humans.

[Bulma chuckles a bit.]

Yes, Kami, the God of Earth. Though he's nothing like what most people imagine when they think about God. Still he has many mystical powers so recreating the moon and making a tail stop regrowing isn't difficult for him.

Yet he really can't do much to protect the world, it's a good thing we have Son-kun.

They're aliens? I guess that makes sense...

That's um... different. So Kami leaves the earth to be protected by aliens?

Well... He's an alien himself, you see. But he's from a non-combatant species so his fighting abilities are limited. And Son-kun and Vegeta are from a species that basically lives and breathes to fight so... It's more of a "do what you can do" thing I suppose.

Oh... all right. I guess that makes sense actually. In a weird way.

Don't worry, we also were unsettled by it.

[Unsettled and a bit worried, but it's logical, he looked exactly the same as the evil Piccolo.]

Wow. How... or maybe when did you guys find out about it all?

Personally I found out about it around nine years ago... Not counting the time spent here, of course. But Son-kun found out about it a few years earlier, I think.

Regarding "how"... Son-kun went to be trained by Kami so that's how he found out, it's hard to be trained by a master that you can't see or know after all. The others and me found out when Kami possessed a human to participate in the World Martial Arts tournament and to try to defeat the son of his evil half before he caused any problems. That was also when we saw why he barely seemed to lift a finger the previous times the Earth was in trouble, he's not a bad fighter but it's definitively not his thing. Also, age wasn't on his side either.

[Chucking a bit.]

Wow... that sounds like some pretty crazy things.

He joined in the World Martial Arts tournament?

It sounds that way because that's pretty much what it is.

And yes, he joined but was defeated the moment he faced the serious rival. He was stronger than the human participants though so I suppose that if the problems come from the human side he can take care of them himself. The problem comes when the threat comes from aliens that are way stromger than him.

Wow... so I guess not too many humans were entering it, huh?

Oh, no, there are many humans participating, but only eight people made it to the actual tournament, the rest were all eliminated in preliminaries. Still out of those eight contestants only two weren't human, three if we count Kami but he was possessing a human body as I said.

Aha~ Understood.

I guess aliens are pretty strong. Or at least were-monkeys who spend all their time training and fighting or something.

Honestly, they are like monsters. Destroying a whole planet is nothing for them.

[Sigh.]

And they eat like monsters too.

What are they doing hanging around Earth then?

It's their home.

[Even Vegeta's. Even if he may not agree with it.]

They have nowhere else to go back, their planet was destroyed years ago. I guess we could use the dragon balls to wish their planet back but it would be only both of them there, all the other Saiyans died years ago.

[Though now that she thinks of it maybe Polunga doesn't have a time limit to resurrect people? But he can only resurrect them one by one and they would need their names... And it's probably not a good idea to have a race like the Saiyans hang around the universe by themselves. After all they are fighters.]

Oh... ouch. But they're protecting Earth right? What about the others?

Ah... No, I mean, only the two that live on Earth do that. Now.

To be honest, Son-kun was sent to Earth when he was a baby to destroy it, but he hit his head and forgot his mission. It's in their nature, fighting I mean, and they worked for another alien who made business out of conquering planets. They killed all the original habitants and then sold the planet to the highest bidder.

[She laughs a bit, trying to take severity off the topic.]

That alien is now dead though, and there aren't any other Saiyans. So the two we have just took residence on Earth and thus protect it, it's a good deal. They are like the strongest creatures in the universe. Or at least in the galaxy.

Whoa... Sounds um... really complicated. How did you fall in with them?

[She laughs again.]

Yeah, I guess it really is complicated and complex. In perspective if someone had told me of all this when I was younger I would have thought it was the argument or a movie or something like that.

I got involved by accident, you could say. I was looking for the dragon balls and Son-kun happened to have one, but he wouldn't let it go no matter what. He thought that his grandfather's soul resided on it... Uh, the soul of the man who adopted him, I mean. So I took him as my bodyguard, he was already crazily strong despite his age.

[She sighs.]

Sometimes I wonder if I wouldn't have been safer in the long run if I had just ignored him and stolen the ball from him, he was strong but not that intelligent. Still I was pretty shocked yet by how he survived even though I shot at him.
