Another Open Log
Who: Fujiko & Lupin (and anyone else if you're really in the mood)
What: Fujiko's 2nd cigarette break for the month and talking to Lupin.
Why: Because there's a lot of unresolved things between them (always will be??)
Where: On top of the sub/near the Vongola decks.
When: Some time this week after Lupin heals a lot more and Fujiko returns from running away to Havoc. Let's go with the 19th. 21st is her casino heist :3
Rating: PG-13? I'll edit if it goes higher.
Fujiko leaned against the cool metal and focused on the cigarette. Sometime between November and January she'd almost managed to give them up. They reminded her of him and there were some days she couldn't take it. Ironic then that she was sitting there now, smoking one and trying to decide what to do about Lupin. If anything. Really, she was just willing to leave it at nothing. Make Goemon and Zenigata deal with his messes now. Maybe back in her world it would have meant more if he'd shown up like that. She softly sang "Paradise" to herself and lazily watched the clouds and seagulls. It was just a chaotic part of her life she couldn't escape. Maybe that didn't really mean she had to do anything about it specifically. Or maybe she should chase down Robin and offer a heist. When she finished with the casino. She'd been lucky that Lupin hadn't stumbled on those plans yet. Maybe Mat really was as lucky as he said.

A soft sigh. The sky was really pretty that night--he'd been so cooped up, and he was in essence a man who loved the natural glow of things, even in the cityscape he normally lurked in.

whoop, let's try that again >.>
"Candy cigarettes? Doesn't sound like a bad thing right now. What are you doing out so late, Fujiko-chan? You should be counting your sheep."
God, she was pretty. His memory always seemed to fail in capturing the essence she bore right before his eyes. He hated the little dip his heartbeats took.

She glanced away, no longer looking at him for fear she'd lose herself. "Hum, just needed some fresh air is all," she replied evasively, refusing to explain that she was thinking of him and Havoc.

He opened his eyes, looking at her turned face, at her neck illuminated by the moonlight. He'd kissed it so many times before, sometimes in passion, sometimes for the sake of loving her coy ways... Even when she was angry with him...
"Does that mean you are too against watching the stars with me?"
Don't shun me entirely, Fujiko-chan.

"Fujiko... Saying I'm sorry won't really fix anything, I know. But I..." He felt frustrated, because she would never take his heart-felt promise seriously--she'd scoff, tell him that's what he always said, what he always was... How was he ever going to prove it was any different?
A wolf is always a wolf?
Then again, it's not like anything she ever said was set in stone, either. But he loved the dangerous, deceptive side of her. It was a breath of fresh air, even in its routine nature. Women had that gift, especially her.
The frustration built up until he rested his face in his palm.
"...I normally know what to say, how to say it... I guess I'm not as smooth a talker as I hoped I was... Can we just sit like this for a while, Fujiko-chan?"

"You're really an idiot sometimes," she sighed, the soft smile hidden from his view for now. "I never asked for pretty words." Just something I could believe in. She tossed out her cigarette into the ocean and replaced it with a candy one herself, whimsically echoing him.
She was more mad at herself than him. She'd spent an entire year trying to break him out of prison once. Was waiting a year on the Grand Line really so hard? Maybe she shouldn't have given up on him. Maybe she should have done more to find him, although there wasn't any more she could have done. She'd already hacked marine lines a couple of times looking for any word about him. She'd missed him. More than she could tell. More than she could even just accept. And she hated him for making her miss him.
"When was the last time we looked at the stars like this, you and I?" she asked softly glancing up. It wasn't what she wanted to say, but there was too much she wanted to say and couldn't bring herself to risk putting words too. It was a familiar feeling around Lupin. As much as feeling like her whole world was spinning in a very fast dance and she could only barely keep up or get lost.

Lupin leaned into her, feeling soft breaths behind her tight clothes. Her heart was beating so fast, though he would not mention such a soothing sensation. He wanted to kiss her, to hold her in his arms and say something funny, say something to make her laugh and want him once more. Just like all those other times. But he restrained himself, tightening his grip on her hand just enough to convey his emotions.
He smiled.
"Fujiko, I think I'm becoming a boring old man, sitting down and wanting to stay like this for so long," he turned his head a little, only able to catch a glimpse of her curled hair and lips. "But if it feels like this... I don't mind."
He closed his eyes and laid his head back onto her shoulder, the smell of her hair making him dizzy with nostalgia. Memories returned to him. Wonderful ones--ones he never could forget. Whenever he thought of her, he was lost in them.
Ha. He was getting too sappy right now...
Fujiko's hand in his, he caressed her palm with his fingertips.

"You really drive me crazy you know," she muttered with a rare bit of honesty. "And the day you get old and boring I'll kick your ass and take you to the cleaners." She slipped her free hands into his jacket pockets. "Red jacket," she muttered to herself looking for a key he didn't seem to have on him. Oh well.

He noted the large gaping tears in the right side of of the blazer, followed by a shredded blue shirt and white bandages. His poor signature had been treated so coldly, though it wouldn't be the first time he'd have to buy another one. He'd lost 3 in one day, once-upon-a-time.
"Aw... I'll need to stitch 'er up until I find a suitable replacement..."

"Let's see... There's not any real plan yet, mainly because they decided to be coy and not give me a place to meet them. They just said they'll appear when I least expect it--which is kinda' stupid, since now I'll be expecting it. Not the smartest baddies I've fought... And I guess Goemon and I'll get off at whatever island you're planning on stopping by. Even if you don't like Jigen, I still have to find him."
He smiled big.
"If I ask nicely, could we stay on your submarine until then? As much as I like the Vongola, I'd prefer to cuddle on your little piece of work. And then when we find a place to get off to, I'll continue to sight-seeing for my little gunslinger."
He didn't bring up that he could've been dead, though Fujiko probably read about it somewhere or another.
[OOC: They don't know where Jigen is at this point, since its the 19th and Jigen posted on the 20th ^^;]

"Any room without a plaque you can take. And don't think the vents are any easier Lupin. I know my submarine very well. It's very guarded," she warned in a low growl.
She didn't tell him about the island they were already near. She had a plan for Sunday and it would be just like Lupin to ruin it for her. He never was that good with casinos.

He was totally going to at give it a shot, if out of curiosity more than the idea of seeing his sweet Fujiko in the nude.

She ran a thumb along the outer shell of Lupin's ear and finally shoved him away again. "You'll never win Lupin," she purred, nimble thieving fingers sliding down the sideburns and under his chin affectonately.

"It was worth a shot," he shrugged, taking her around the arms and ignoring the desire to tickle her stomach again. He sighed. "Oh, well... Maybe I'll try again some other time..." His eyelids flickered in an attempted to remain open, though he was fading fast. He didn't have the proper energy to even attempt a kiss or a jump-out-of-the-clothes routine; instead he was content with almost napping against her back.
He jerked his head up, smirking. "No, I know better--if I fall asleep out here Fujiko-chan would leave me out here by myself~!"
Shoulders pressed back and a hand in his pocket, he reached out to her with one hand, smiling. The moonlight lit up the ocean beyond, as the waves played their own tune.
"We should get to bed, or you'll be sleepy all day tomorrow."

He started toward the inside of the Vongola, wondering if Goemon was awake so that he could tell him the 'bad news' of them staying in Fujiko's submarine for a few days. As he nearly reached the door to the inner hall, he paused.
"You know, I meant what I said back when you picked me up."
And he vanished into the corridor with the door shutting softly behind him.

She sighed a smokey breath and started singing again softly to herself. Come what may. She couldn't fight fate, maybe it was time to just let the dice fall and run away when they did.
